We are so thrilled to finally be able to showcase our beautiful, historical family home and brand new country house wedding and events venue with the world and are excited to welcome you as a visitor to our website.
Egton Manor is beautiful Grade II listed building and our much loved family home. We live here with our 3 young sons, Kit, Sonny and Ned. The house has belonged within the Foster family since 1869 and it is both a pleasure and incredible honour to be its custodians today.
The manor is part of a 6,000 acre Estate, situated within the sublime and majestic landscape of the North Yorks National Parks. The beautiful River Esk runs through grounds of Egton Manor – the banks of the river, providing a magical spot to sit and escape a while, whilst soaking in the sights and sound of nature all year round.
We are also located just an hour’s drive from the city of York and only 6 miles out of the charming and famous seaside town of Whitby, with its welcoming locallers and abundance of excellent fish and chip shops.
Weddings
It is very important to us that each and every wedding at Egton feels special and unique, and that the couple can really gain a sense of making our home, their home, for the duration of their precious celebrations. This is why we will only ever host a very limited number of weddings at Egton Manor every year.
Whether you’re looking for the perfect venue for the perfect venue for an intimate Autumn or Winter wedding, with roaring log fires and cozy interiors or a summer celebration with a marquee and live entertainment being played on the lawn whilst your guests roam around and enjoy the beauty of our gardens, we can help. We have multiple spaces licensed for holding wedding ceremonies and hosting receptions.
Whatever time of year your wedding, we can always guarantee the most delicious, locally sourced and seasonally produced food, accommodation so comfortable that you and your guests won’t want to leave, and magical memories that will last a lifetime.
Because we only host a limited number of weddings each year, this enables couples the option to hire out our our full suite of bedrooms and accommodation for their guests for two nights if they wish.

Events
We don’t just provide our home for weddings, we are also delighted to open up our home and spaces for wellbeing programmes and activities too.
The sense of escape at Egton is real and wonderful. The natural beauty and tranquility of the surrounding area make Egton Manor the perfect basis for hosting yoga, team training and/or executive retreats.

Accommodation
As well as a wedding and events venue, we also provide our accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis on a year round basis. If you are considering planning a short staycation or romantic weekend away (perfect whilst so many of us can’t travel overseas!), please browse our accommodation pages. You can then fully book your planned getaway via our Bookings section.
Wake up in the heart of North Yorkshire with a freshly cooked breakfast delivered to your room before setting off on a beautiful long walk to discover the quaint surrounding villages, woodland, moorland and coast.
You can also enjoy activities such as salmon fishing, clay pigeon shooting, wine tasting and wildlife watching whilst staying at Egton Manor – particularly otters and birds of prey.
